Business, Marketing & Project-Planning Workshops
The Creative Generator SEQ presented a series of Business, Marketing and Project Planning Workshops for South East Queensland artists throughout April, May and June 2011.
Artists from the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley, Somerset, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast were encouraged to attend. The 1-day workshop wereheld in each region from 10:00am – 4:00pm and gave artists and arts workers the practical tools they need to work on their Arts Business and understand the importance of planning.
The training focussed on developing the business, marketing and planning skills of community artists across all art forms and will assist in transforming creative communities into creative industries. The program was developed after extensive consultation to establish the needs of the arts community in the region and was conducted by Flying Arts who have extensive experience in this area.
About the workshop
Once you have set up your arts business – what comes next? Planning. There is no truer adage in business that ‘failing to plan is planning to fail’. This introductory 1 day workshop will cover ideas about planning for your arts business and outline the types of plans you will need if your business is to be successful. It will touch on the principles of strategic planning, business planning, marketing planning and project planning. At the end of the workshop you will understand what all these different plans are for, how they all fit together and what you might need to tackle next for your business.
