Go Figure! is the 2012 Xstrata Kids and Teens exhibition. The exhibition
centres on ten life-size sculptures, collectively entitled The Syndicate, by
Simon Gilby. Gilby describes his figures as portraits “of real or imagined
characters”. In the catalogue essay, Ted Snell writes “…in that strange
amalgam we discover the core of their power. They are us, they reflect
back our fears and doubts and in this exchange we become more human,
more empathetic, more alive.”

Artist: Metka Skrobar
Because of her extensive journeys to the outback regions of Australia in her capacity as an artist and tutor, Metka has been captivated and mesmerised by the vastness of the landscape and the resilience of the people who live there. Using acrylics, collage and mixed media, Metka captures the essence of this seemingly harsh, dry environment with its endless horizons and vast vaulted skies which at times seem poetically dramatic and other times dry and sere.
