Community Arts Action Group
A project by the Creative Generator SEQ
The aim of the Community Arts Action Group (CAAG) is to identify, on behalf of the community, the service requirements for cultural development, and the funding needs of artists and arts workers within each community.
The CAAG’s are a small group of 2 – 3 volunteers,from each of the 10 regions in South East Qld, who are the key community drivers within the arts community.
The SEQ region includes the Lockyer Valley, Somerset, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Logan, Scenic Rim, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast.
They are required to meet once every 3 weeks and will also meet with the Creative Generator SEQ once every 6 – 8 weeks.
The CAAG liaise with the Creative Generator SEQ to prioritise a list of key projects and needs for each region and work together to develop strategic plans to assist their community in achieving these priorities.
The Creative Generator SEQ will act as a regional conduit and liaise between the arts community, the CAAG’s, Qld Arts Council, Arts Queensland and the Australia Council for the Arts.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from the community to become part of the Community Arts Action Group in each region.
