Local Arts Councils
We supports 50 volunteer-run Local Arts Councils (LACs)
Local Arts Councils are staffed by volunteers and arts administrators whom encourage artistic expression. They provide opportunities for participation in cultural experiences and community collaboration. We support each LAC with advice, resources and visual arts touring exhibitions. Local Arts Councils are independently incorporated bodies, affiliated to Queensland Arts Council.
Forming a Local Arts Council
Can't see a Local Arts Council near you? Start your own! We have developed a consultative application process to help you. Assistance is provided with all stages of your application to ensure that you have strong local support for your vision.
Download the Experssion Of Interest application form here.
The application is in two parts:
1) Complete the Expression of Interest (Part A)
2) Application Form (Part B) - This part would be completed should it be agreed that an application be made to the Board of Queensland Arts Council to form a Local Arts Council. This application form should only be completed after broad community consultation and participation in a facilitated meeting with a Artslink Queensland representative that results in the proposed LAC creating a Strategic Plan.
