M.A.D. Camp

Music. Arts. Drama. Dance (M.A.D.) Camp 2011

Queensland Arts Council’s M.A.D. Camp (Music. Art. Drama. Dance) is a multi- arts residency program for 60 secondary school students in years 10, 11 and 12 from rural, regional, remote and urban Queensland.

Held for the first time in 2011, M.A.D. Camp took place during the first week of the September school holidays.

Following the January 2011 extreme weather events in Queensland, the camp inspired young people to think optimistically about their future through participation in a week long program of multi-arts workshops, training and excursions.

QAC was successful in receiving a grant from The Tim Fairfax Family Foundation which significantly subsidized participation for the young attendees. Other event partners were the City of Ipswich, Jani Haenke Charitable Trust and Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School. We are seeking your support to present M.A.D. Camp again in 2012.
