Small Schools Subsidy Program

In order to support small schools (less than 100 enrolments) that cannot raise the minimum charge, we have developed a Small Schools Subsidy Program.

This Subsidy Program sources government, philanthropic and corporate support to raise the funds needed to cover program costs.

Am I eligible?
‘Small schools’ are those with an enrolment of fewer than 100 students that are within our touring areas.

What is the subsidy?
The subsidy will make up the difference between your students’ participation fee of $6 per student and the minimum charge of $600+GST.

The subsidy does not cover 100% of the performance charge, only the shortfall to reach the minimum charge.

It is encouraged that small schools contact neighbouring schools to combine for the performance before applying for a subsidy.

How do I apply?
Tick the appropriate box when filling in the booking form.

Is my subsidised performance guaranteed?
No. If you want to guarantee your students receive a performance you must commit to the minimum of $600+GST.

How will I know if my subsidy is successful?
If Queensland Arts Council is successful in securing subsidy for your school we will send you a letter with your school’s scheduled performance times and dates.

If Queensland Arts Council is unsuccessful in sourcing funding for your school, we will notify you by post or email by the end of the preceding school term.

Can combining small schools still apply for a subsidy?
Yes, but only if your combined total number of enrolments is still fewer than 100 students.
